Wild cascades

Wild cascades

This is my favourite image of Buachaille Etive Mòr. Lot of images are taken from the same spot with exactly the same composition of waterfall in foreground and pyramid mountain in background. This behavior of photographers is known as Comp Stomping. I have to say I am not an exception, I have also this composition in my portfolio.

But this image is special. I went to wild water to take this scenery. There was small island inside the river, just small enough for me and my tripod. It was late sunny afternoon, when we went back to Buachaille again. The weather was just opposite to conditions we have at time of our first visit. Winter blue sky was reflected in cold wild water of river which made high color contrast with warm sunshine on rocks. Iconic Buachaille mountain and tree in middle emphasis non-traditional composition of this famous place.
