Every evening during summer holiday, my wife and me spent dinner time on the main street of Ponta Delgada, the street very close to sea and marina full of small and middle boats. We were there, on Azor islands for just one week, so I decided that I had have to capture atmosphere of marina, this small piece on border between city and sea.
You know, weather on islands, especially in cold Atlatic Oceans, is very unstable, so I was very glad that one afternoon looks really promising special light and conditions for evening. So, we started with dinner little bit earlier to give me enough time to find good composition. After quick scouting of this are I found place on concrete pier with marina in front of me and combination of old and new buildings in background. I was lucky that wind blew clouds toward to me, which allow to sun illuminate them by golden hour color. As you can see on image below, clouds were also reflected on the sea surface acting as big mirror due to long exposure.

Although I was happy to capture few similar great images, I decided to wait for nightfall to see marina in blue color and with shining buildings in background. After taking first night photo, it came into my mind idea to blend two images, one taken during golden hour and second during twilight, into this timelapse shot.
If you like it, you can see this image in better resulution on 500px where photo reach Popular level in very short time after publishing. And of course, on the same site you can also buy it.
