In January 2013 I have honor to attend winter expedition to wonderful Scotland which is part of United Kingdom. It is a north part of Great Britain island, surrounded by Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, the North Sea to the northeast, the Irish Sea to the south. There is more than 790 islands, including the Northern Isles and the Hebrides. We focused primarly on Isle of Sky, however we took also photos during way to and from this beatiful island.
Scotland is well-known and highly appreciated area for landscape photographers, mainly due to variable weather. I can confirm that there can be sunny, windy, rainy and snowy wether during one hour. On one hand it means you have to be prepared for big challenges in terms of your clothing and technique (camera, lenses, filters), on other hand it offers moody landscape with changeable character.
We started tour at Blea Tarn and Kilchurn castle in middle of England before we reached Scotland where we visited Orchy river, Rannoch mor, Donan Castle, Elgol, Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, Sligachan, lakes Maree and Tula and Glencoe valley.
